Kickstart team development

Strong collaboration doesn’t happen automatically. This kickstart is designed for teams that want to jointly set direction for behavior, collaboration, and culture. Think of management teams, project teams, executive teams, or operational teams. In a compact group of up to four people, you lay the foundation together. Together, you develop a first version of the TeamCanvas: a shared compass for how you want to work together. This phase provides direction and language for the movement ahead — strategic, personal, and focused on lasting impact.

Do you recognize this?

• Departments or roles operate side by side, not together
• Everyone is busy, but there’s no shared story
• You sense potential, yet progress remains stuck
• The team exists, but doesn’t truly function as one

Whether you're just starting as a team, have been working together for some time, or find yourselves at a new crossroads — it's valuable to reflect on how you collaborate. This kickstart team development supports that process in a conscious and focused way. With shared language, trust, and direction, you build ownership from within.

What is it?

This kickstart team development is a compact, focused intervention with a core team: a small delegation from the broader team, made up of people who recognize the movement and want to help shape it. They actively support the intended change and are willing to help build the foundation from a place of personal commitment.

Each core team member receives a personal analysis (the EnneaGuide), offering insight into their key drivers, stress responses, and natural role within a team. The individual profiles are combined into a visual team analysis that highlights the group’s dynamics and opportunities for strengthening collaboration.

Through personal reflection, joint conversations, and practical dialogue, shared language and direction emerge. These insights are translated into a first version of the TeamCanvas — not a final product, but a grounded draft that can later be deepened with the full team.

The result is a solid starting point that feels right. From connection, clarity, and example-driven behavior, the broader movement begins to grow — naturally and from within.

The process: three clear phases

This kickstart team development consists of three logical steps. Together, they form the foundation for shared ownership and direction.

Phase 1 – Setting direction and extending the invitation
We begin with an intake session with the leader and/or sponsor. In this conversation, the intent is clarified: what kind of movement is needed, why now, and what kind of invitation fits that ambition? We then discuss how team members can join the core team on a voluntary basis. They are not assigned, but choose to take part because they want to help build the foundation.

Phase 2 – Building together (3 half-day sessions)
In three sessions, the core team works on trust, insight, and direction:
• Session 1: Personal drivers and mutual recognition
• Session 2: Team dynamics and culture — where things get stuck, where movement is possible
• Session 3: First outline of the TeamCanvas, with space for reflection and refinement

Phase 3 – Reflection and preparing the next step
We consolidate the insights in a written summary and a concept version of the TeamCanvas. In a reflection meeting with the sponsor, we determine the next step — this could be deepening the work with the full team or supporting broader implementation.

What does it deliver?

• A shared starting point for collaboration, carried by an engaged core team
• Insight into behavior, team dynamics, and interpersonal relationships
• A concept version of the TeamCanvas that provides direction and invites follow-up
• Trust, language, and ownership to take the next step with the wider team
• A movement that grows from within and carries forward naturally

Frequently asked question: “What happens when the core team is done?”

At that point, a strong foundation has been laid. The insights, shared language, and direction developed within the core team make it easier to involve the wider team in a natural and meaningful way.

Together, we’ll explore what’s needed to support that next step — whether it’s a follow-up session, a deepening trajectory, or focused sparring with the team leader.
